What Type of Veneers are Offered at All Smiles Dentistry?

All Smiles Dentistry offers many types of veneers to help you get the smile you always wanted. Veneers are thin, tooth-colored shells that are bonded to the front of the tooth to improve the tooth’s appearance. Many veneers are typically made of porcelain or a composite resin material. At All Smiles Dentistry, we offer multiple types of veneers depending on the patient's needs. These types include:

  • Traditional Veneers: Thin cosmetic veneers made of porcelain, the preferred material because of its translucency, which help it give a more natural appearance. Porcelain is also stain-resistant to help provide a long-lasting white and bright smile. This type of veneer requires some tooth preparation.
  • No-Prep Veneers: No-prep veneers are the perfect option for those wanting veneers but are worried about filing down their healthy teeth. This type of veneer is very popular because of the ability to be placed or removed as needed.
  • Composite Veneers: A less expensive, tooth-colored material. This kind of veneer can be made and place by your dentist during a single visit. Composite veneers require no tooth preparation.
  • e.Max Veneers: This minimally invasive option for veneers are durable, strong, and long-lasting.

If you are unsure what type of veneers to choose for your smile, a consultation at All Smiles Dentistry can help you find the right veneers to improve the look of your smile.

Do Veneers Hurt?

Receiving veneers typically does not hurt. However, depending on the veneer you choose, it may require multiple visits to the dentist. During the consultation, your dentist will have you explain the look you’re trying to achieve with veneers. You will undergo a thorough exam and impressions will be made of your teeth if you have chosen no-prep veneers.

If you have chosen a porcelain veneer, your teeth will need to be prepared. To prepare the tooth for veneers, you are dentists will remove some of the enamel from the tooth surface, which will match the thickness of the veneer being placed on the tooth. After trimming the enamel, your dentist will make impressions, and the model is sent to a dental lab to create your veneers. This process can sometimes take two to four weeks.

The final step is to bond the veneers to the teeth. Once the dentist ensures a proper fit, the tooth is cleaned and polished to help for a strong bonding process. A cement is applied to the tooth, and the veneers are put into place. A special light is used to cure the cement.

How Do Veneers Work?

Depending on the type of veneer you will be receiving, we may need to remove a small amount of enamel from the tooth. Impressions will then be made and sent to a dental lab. At the lab, they will design your customized veneers. Once we receive them, you will come back and have them bonded to the front surface of your teeth.

I am very satisfied with my experience at the all-new All Smiles Dentistry. Alyssia, my hygienist, was very professional and explained all procedures clearly. Dr. Killeen took the time to visit and, although I know he was busy, did not give me the impression that he was in a hurry. I am so glad I stayed with All Smiles Dentistry.
